จิรวัฒน์ เอกอัครนุวัฒน์ เกิดเมื่อวันที่ 21 กุมภาพันธ์ 2520 ปัจจุบันอายุ 46 ปี หลังจากที่ คสช. ทําการรัฐประหารได้มีการร่างรัฐธรรมนูญใหม่และให้ประชาชนลงประชามติ แต่ประชาชนไม่สามารถรณรงค์ให้ความรู้แก่ประชาชนให้ลงมติไม่รับร่างรัฐธรรมนูญได้ นายจิรวัฒน์จึงได้ร่วมกับเพื่อน ๆทําอารยะขัดขืนโดยการฉีกบัตรลงประชามติในคูหาและได้ถูกดําเนินคดีมาแล้วก่อนหน้านี้ จิรวัฒน์เป็นแอดมิน เพจการ์ตูน “คนกลมคนเหลี่ยม” ได้เขียนยั่วล้อเกี่ยวกับความเป็นไปของสถาบันกษัตริย์จนถูกกลุ่มคนที่คิดว่าตัวเองมีความจงรักภักดีในสถาบันกษัตริย์มากกว่าใคร ๆในสังคมภายใต้ชื่อกลุ่ม “ศูนย์รวมประชาชนปกป้องสถาบัน" (ศปปส.) แจ้งความดําเนินคดีในมาตรา 112 

นายจิรวัฒน์ถูกดําเนินคดีมาตรา 112 จํานวน 2 กรรม ซึ่งความผิดในมาตรา 112 ต้องระหว่างโทษตั้งแต่ 3-15 ปี นั่นหมายความว่านายจิรวัฒน์อาจได้รับอัตราโทษสูงสุดถึง 30 ปี ขณะนี้อยู่ระหว่างที่เจ้าหน้าที่ตํารวจกําลังทําสํานวนคดีส่งให้อัยการพิจารณา ซึ่งในความผิดมาตรา 112 อัยการจะพิจารณาฟ้องร้องทุกคดี 

ความเห็นต่อมาตรา 112 มาตรา 112 เป็นกฎหมายที่ล้าหลังและริดรอนเสรีภาพในการแสดงออกต่อสถาบันสาธารณะที่ดํารงอยู่โดยการใช้ภาษีของประชาชนและเป็นกฎหมายที่มีปัญหาในตัวของมันเอง ด้วยที่ว่าใครก็ได้สามารถแจ้งข้อกล่าวหาได้โดยไม่ต้องมีความเกี่ยวข้องกับสถาบันกษัตริย์ 

ข้อเรียกร้องจากสังคมไทยและประชาคมโลก: อยากให้ประชาคมโลกได้รู้ว่าประเทศไทยยังมีกฎหมายที่กดทับเสรีภาพ มีกฎหมายที่ไร้ความเป็นธรรมในกระบวนการยุติธรรม กฎหมายที่ริดรอนสิทธิมนุษยชน เสมือนกฎหมายกํากับดูแลทาส อยากให้ประชาคมโลกช่วยกดดันทางรัฐบาลไทยทุก ๆด้านที่สามารถทําได้ ให้ยกเลิกกฎหมายที่ขัดต่อสิทธิมนุษยชนมาตรานี้

Chirawat Akeaukaranuwat 

112 WATCH 

Chiwawat Akeaukaranuwat was born on 21 February 1977. He is currently 46 years old. Following the 2014 coup and the eventual rewriting of the constitution and the referendum, like many Thais, Chirawat rejected the legitimacy of the coup and its consequences. He protested by tearing the ballot and was arrested for doing so. 

Recently, he has served as the editor of a cartoon page on Facebook "Khonklom Hokliam" which criticises the monarchy. Hence, a royalist vigilante group under the name "The People's Centre for the Protection of the Monarchy" filed a lèse-majesté complaint against him. He has been charged with Article 112 on two counts and could be imprisoned up to 30 years. Currently, the police is working with the General Attorney in forwarding the case for ultimately the prosecution of Chirawat. 

Chirawat feels that Article 112 is outdated and deprives the people of their basic human rights. People, as taxpayers, have a right to criticise any state institutions but Article 112 allows anyone to file complaints against others in the name of defending the royal institution. 

Chirawat urges the Thai society and the international community to understand the dire situation in Thailand. There is a lack of justice and the judicial system in Thailand is politcised. He wishes all sides would pressure the Thai government to abolish this barbaric law.

112Watch 27 สิงหาคม  · Officially launched online now an exhibition "Faces of Victims of 112" showcasing 25 victims and their human stories. This is a part of the exhibition at LeRoy Neiman Gallery at Columbia Univ from 18-25 Sept. We will have a mobile exhibition in Chicago (8 Sept) and DC (14 Sept) too. Please help us spread the words on this.
